Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

At MaxPulse, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you interact with our microservices architecture education platform. We're based in Taiwan and comply with local data protection regulations while maintaining international standards for data security.

1

When you use MaxPulse, we gather different types of information to provide you with educational services and improve your learning experience. Some of this happens automatically, while other data you provide directly.

  • Payment information processed securely through our payment partners when you enroll in programs
  • Communications you send us through contact forms, email, or support channels

  • Usage patterns including which pages you visit, how long you stay, and what content you access
  • Technical data about your internet connection and access times
  • Learning behavior such as video completion rates and resource downloads

For users in Taiwan: We collect and process data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and maintain records of consent as required by local regulations.

2

How We Use Your Information

Your data serves specific purposes that make MaxPulse work better for you. We don't collect information just to have it—every piece of data helps us deliver, improve, or protect our services.

Purpose Description
Service Delivery Process enrollments, grant course access, track your progress, and issue certificates
Communication Send course updates, respond to inquiries, share relevant educational content, and provide support
Improvement Analyze learning patterns to enhance course content, fix technical issues, and develop new features
Security Prevent fraud, protect against unauthorized access, and maintain platform integrity
Legal Compliance Meet regulatory requirements, respond to legal requests, and enforce our terms of service

We never sell your personal information to third parties. Your learning data belongs to you, and we use it solely to provide educational services and improve your experience on our platform.

3

Data Sharing and Third Parties

Running an education platform means working with certain partners who help us deliver services. Here's who might see your information and why we share it with them.

Service Providers We Work With

Payment processors handle transactions securely—they get the minimum information needed to complete purchases. Cloud hosting services store course materials and user data with strict security protocols. Email service providers send course updates and communications on our behalf. Analytics tools help us understand how people use the platform, but we configure them to respect your privacy.

When Law Requires It

Sometimes we have to share information because of legal obligations. This happens when Taiwan authorities make legitimate requests, when we need to enforce our terms of service, or when there's a genuine security threat. We review each request carefully and only share what's legally required.

All third-party providers we work with sign agreements requiring them to protect your data and use it only for the specific services they provide to MaxPulse. We vet these partners carefully before sharing any information.

4

Your Rights and Choices

You have significant control over your personal information. Taiwan's data protection laws give you specific rights, and we've built tools to make exercising these rights straightforward.

  • Access your data by logging into your account or requesting a complete copy of what we have
  • Correct inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting our support team
  • Delete your account and associated data, though some information might be retained for legal compliance
  • Object to certain data processing activities if you have legitimate grounds
  • Restrict how we process your information in specific circumstances
  • Export your learning data in a portable format if you want to move it elsewhere
  • Withdraw consent for data processing where we rely on consent as our legal basis

To exercise these rights, send an email to contact@maxpulse.life with your request. We'll verify your identity and respond within 30 days as required by Taiwan regulations. There's no charge for reasonable requests, though we might ask you to cover costs for excessive or repetitive demands.

5

Data Security Measures

Protecting your information isn't just a legal requirement—it's fundamental to our operation. We've implemented multiple layers of security to keep your data safe from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

Technical Protections

All data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS encryption. We store sensitive information using industry-standard encryption methods. Access to our systems requires multi-factor authentication for staff members. Regular security audits help us identify and fix vulnerabilities before they become problems.

Organizational Safeguards

Only authorized personnel can access user data, and they receive training on data protection practices. We maintain detailed logs of who accesses what information and when. Our offices in Taichung have physical security measures including controlled access and surveillance systems.

Despite our best efforts, no system is completely secure. If we discover a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you within 72 hours as required by Taiwan law and take immediate steps to minimize any harm.

6

Data Retention and Deletion

We don't keep your information forever. Different types of data have different retention periods based on legal requirements and legitimate business needs.

Data Type Retention Period
Account Information Duration of active account plus 3 years after closure for legal compliance
Course Progress Data Duration of enrollment plus 5 years to maintain educational records
Payment Records 7 years as required by Taiwan tax and accounting regulations
Communication Logs 2 years for quality assurance and dispute resolution
Marketing Preferences Until you withdraw consent or close your account

When retention periods expire, we securely delete or anonymize your information. Deletion happens automatically through our data management systems. You can request early deletion of certain data types by contacting us, though we might need to retain some information for legal reasons.

7

International Data Transfers

MaxPulse primarily operates from Taiwan, but some of our service providers maintain servers in other countries. When your data crosses borders, we ensure it receives adequate protection.

Cloud hosting infrastructure might store data in regional data centers outside Taiwan. We only use providers that maintain security standards equivalent to Taiwan's data protection requirements. For transfers to countries without adequate protection laws, we implement additional safeguards like standard contractual clauses approved by Taiwan authorities.

When data leaves Taiwan, we document the transfer basis and maintain records as required by the Personal Data Protection Act. You can request information about where your data is stored by contacting our privacy team.

8

Children's Privacy

MaxPulse courses focus on professional microservices architecture education intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from individuals under 18 years old without parental consent.

If you're under 18 and want to use our platform, we need verifiable consent from your parent or legal guardian. We'll ask for their contact information and confirm permission before creating your account. Parents can review, modify, or delete their child's information by contacting us at any time.

If we discover we've accidentally collected data from someone under 18 without proper consent, we'll delete that information immediately. Parents who believe their child has provided information without permission should contact us right away.

9

Changes to This Policy

We update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or service offerings. When we make significant changes that affect how we handle your data, we'll notify you through email or a prominent notice on our platform.

The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when we most recently revised this policy. We encourage you to review it periodically, especially before providing new information or using new features. Continuing to use MaxPulse after policy changes means you accept the updated terms.

For major changes that require explicit consent under Taiwan law, we'll ask for your agreement before the changes take effect. You can always decline, though this might limit your ability to use certain features.
